I have a rod coleman heater setup and nice parafeed chokes and OPT's from magnequest that I'd like to reuse from a previous project. I don't really see how to reconfigure the concept for parafeed, it it possible?

thanks so much,

DavidDavid Schatzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14293126255996378824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-49493756213084304592016-08-07T20:21:24.131+02:002016-08-07T20:21:24.131+02:00Hi!

I guess when you mentioned the possibility of using DHTs as drivers my curiosity was piqued. It's such an interesting set of articles and I wanted to read more.
May I ask, you mentioned the interstage transformer gives more headroom, how does it do that if the ratio is 1:1?
Also, if I were to build the amp with the 6CB5A would I be able to get away with a buffer preamp if my speakers are 114db sensitive?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14681651801769582393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-86244142139871884842016-08-07T09:58:00.920+02:002016-08-07T09:58:00.920+02:00Hi!

A DHT driver will increase the cost dramatically since it needs a very well filtered DC filament supply and either a third stage or input transformer to get enough gain. The latter in turn requires a suitable preamp to be driven adequately. I do sell kits for amps with DHT drivers. These kits include the schematics and technical details.

Best regards

ThomasVinylSavorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03255472557028244395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-16423478058894601122016-08-07T07:39:06.230+02:002016-08-07T07:39:06.230+02:00Hello,

For example the 45 amp with 26 driver can be optionally equipped with input tranformer since it has very low gain without.

Custom build are usually build without input transformer since they need adequate preamps to drive them with low Zout. I know your preamplifiers all provide low impedance transformer coupled output.

Regards,
Mattmattattnethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10181772388002904574noreply@blogger.com
