I already implemented this in the D3a full function preamplifier. The additional gain of the D3a in the line section even enabled the elimination of another step up transformer. To address this I am about to develop a new linestage which will have a dedicated input for this phono to provide a bit more gain." Only now you say *slightly* so you can see how I originally misunderstood.

Anyhow, it's nice to eliminate an entire transformer. But it's too bad that one less gain stage equates to a higher price. Although I'm sure it took some time to figure out how to recover phase without muddying up the signal in doing so.Diamond Davenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-87446383054548759862019-09-29T18:15:36.327+02:002019-09-29T18:15:36.327+02:00I should use more superlatives when I describe my ...I should use more superlatives when I describe my stuff, I expected that people would get it the wrong way if I am honest about the *slightly* less gain. This concept truly removes an entire gain stage for the frequency band above 1kHz and the sound quality proves that. In the new D3a preamp it is even one gain stage removed and one transformer, the latter in the entire frequency bandVinylSavorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03255472557028244395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-16330737463219886912019-09-29T18:11:19.675+02:002019-09-29T18:11:19.675+02:00no, no gain stage added. With low output carts the new one with D3a line forts better, but still one gain stage less and even open transformer less
VinylSavorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03255472557028244395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-50781984843501587422019-09-29T16:36:24.155+02:002019-09-29T16:36:24.155+02:00You removed a gain stage in the phono preamp only ...You removed a gain stage in the phono preamp only to need to add it back in the 10Y line preamp?Diamond Davenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-35560499405461711192019-08-22T05:27:52.333+02:002019-08-22T05:27:52.333+02:00Excellent!
