If they are significant it is important to measure what is going on. This also depends on your amp. When the emission of a tube drops due to age it's gain can also drop (depending on the circuit ir is used in)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-15506260905250136492022-06-27T15:38:23.414+02:002022-06-27T15:38:23.414+02:00I haven't measured it, but I hear it. I use the 10 on the top of a bi-amped setup, and compared to my other 10's, I have to attenuate quite a bit more on the 10 amp (with Sylvania straight side 801) to match the bass amp.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-61263021391943251152022-06-27T07:38:55.688+02:002022-06-27T07:38:55.688+02:00Have you measured that? Was 10Y more conservatively rated ?, or perhaps the plate is thicker ?. Also is there a construction difference which would explain the higher voltage rating.

Best wishes
DaveAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-29293562955147914292020-05-08T18:39:02.403+02:002020-05-08T18:39:02.403+02:00No concern here, my speakers are 6ohms 98dB/W :D f...No concern here, my speakers are 6ohms 98dB/W :D from my calculations, I am seeing about 3.2W into a 16K load, just wanted to be sure I wasn't overlooking something.

Thanks for getting back to me!
KeenanAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03849489218046393213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-70963293985353116262020-05-08T18:10:37.065+02:002020-05-08T18:10:37.065+02:00Hi! In any case it will be around 3-3.5W if you are worried about 0.5W plus or minus this is probably not the right tube ;-)VinylSavorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03255472557028244395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-41367177760745861782020-05-08T17:19:28.749+02:002020-05-08T17:19:28.749+02:00Hi Thomas,

I didn't write about the sound differences...Hi! I didn't write about the sound differences because that heavily depends on the amplifier. A subjective description of the sound of a specific tube in a specific amp does not guarantee that another person will experience it the same way in different amps. I know people keep talking about the sound of tubes but it is always the entire amp which is responsible for the sound.VinylSavorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03255472557028244395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-6736313848014366562018-02-09T21:41:23.902+01:002018-02-09T21:41:23.902+01:00Hi Thomas,
