I used a 6Hy choke and it is absolutely quite with your ear to the speaker on 103 db horns. I did use a transformer with dual secondaries and made 2 separate power supplies. Outstanding bass, strong, quick and much like my F6 SS amp. Glorious mid range and superb highs. Many thanks Mr Mayer for making this available for diy'ers. It heavily depends on your speaker. The primary impedance is the reflected speaker impedance multiplied by the square of the winding ratio. Many speakers have an impedance which varies considerably over the frequency range. In my later designs I chose 5k to get a lower output impedance and usability with a wider range of speakers.

Best regards

ThomasVinylSavorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03255472557028244395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-25462693831161002022015-01-21T11:03:03.659+01:002015-01-21T11:03:03.659+01:00After playing with the push-pull world, I decided ...After playing with the push-pull world, I decided to try a SE amplifier. I have some 6N7 (G) and 6CB5 (with and without A), so the choice was easy, with the the good reputation your version has.

I'm a little confused. In "Singel Ended Amplifier Concept, Part 4" you use an output transformer with the 3k and 75 mA.
