It's one of the best sounds I've ever heard. I did an article a few years back for AudioXpress but now I'm refining the design.Robaroninoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-40830529674725584122023-09-23T02:36:44.529+02:002023-09-23T02:36:44.529+02:00I have not thought about these battery tubes for d...I have not thought about these battery tubes for decades. I think I need to play with getting a condenser microphone element and building a tube "head amp" for it; adapted from a very early Western Electric or Neumann design.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-45508837374708840122020-04-24T18:53:31.990+02:002020-04-24T18:53:31.990+02:00Planning on constructing an amplifier using 2 1h4G...Planning on constructing an amplifier using 2 1h4G tubes. The circuit needs a B+ of 45 volts. The filaments require 2VDC, so I'll use two NiCd batteries in series, with a 3 ohm resistor in series, providing a 0.4 volt drop to safely power the filaments. Depending on the signal, I'm hoping a speaker with a matching transformer will produce adequate audio from an iPhone or CD player.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04175462101637430032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2098337119765190876.post-80941319146150859232019-01-05T03:01:38.119+01:002019-01-05T03:01:38.119+01:00Excellent pictures!
