The Compactron DAC

Hi!

A third version of the Comnpactron DAC is finished.

The first one had transformer coupled outputs and transformer volume control, the second one fixed transformer coupled output. This is the simplest version without volume control and with RC coupled outputs to RCA jacks only.

This time with blue front and back plates.

It has Both USB and Coax inputs.

The Compactron Mono Blocks

Hi!

The next members of the Compactron family are finished. A pair of Parallel Single Ended Amplifiers.

The concept is similar to the Compactron Stereo Power Amp, but split into mono blocks and two output tubes in single ended mode for twice the power.

About 15W outpour power per channel.

The speakers connect via a pair of 4mm banana jacks. Input iOS fed through a RCA connector:

The same minimalistic design as all Compactron components.

The Compactron Phono Preamplifier

Hi!

A new version of the Compactron phono stage is finished.

This is a puristic version without any adjustments. Several features can be specified when ordering, like input selector MM/MC switch, adjustable EQ, phase, etc. Similar to the last Compactron  phono stage.

Gain can be configured based on request up to 86dB MC gain.

This particular demo unit is set for MC and 80dB gain.

The circuit in this unit is RC coupled throughout. 

The phono stage stacked on top of the DAC:

This unit is finished in a bright orange and with light wood side panels.

The Compactron DAC

Hi!

Another DAC just got finished.

It shares the same configuration and circuit with the recently shown first Compactron DAC, except this one has no volume control, but fixed outputs only.

The only controls are the on/off switch and an input selector.

Both XLR and RCA outputs are available on the back.

Another DAC is coming up soon with a simpler output stage which will be RC coupled.

Upcoming Compactron Builds

Hi!

Here an update about the next Compactron builds. Some of the previously announced projects are already done. Six more to be finished.

Front and back plates are prepared.

The two sets of orange plates actually have different hues. Not clearly visible on the photos.

The next will be another DAC, but this time without volume control and a champagne finish.

Yet another DAC, but with RC coupled output and no transformer coupling.
